Lamborghini Urus Performante Polizia: The Fastest and Most Versatile Police Car Ever

Lamborghini is known for making some of the most powerful and luxurious supercars in the world. But did you know that they also make police cars? That’s right, the Italian State Police has been using Lamborghini models for almost 20 years, and the latest addition to their fleet is the Urus Performante, a high-performance version of the Super SUV.

In this article, I will explain how Lamborghini and the Italian State Police collaborated to create the Urus Performante Polizia, what makes it different from the regular Urus, and how it is used for special services such as organ and plasma transport. I will also share some tips on how you can optimize your website for the topic of Lamborghini Urus Performante Polizia, and rank higher on search engines like Google.

The History of Lamborghini and the Italian State Police

The collaboration between Lamborghini and the Italian State Police started in 2004, when the first Gallardo was delivered to the Highway Police. Since then, five more Lamborghini models have joined the police fleet, including the Huracán LP610-4, which is still in service today.

The Lamborghini police cars are not only used for patrolling and chasing criminals, but also for humanitarian purposes. They are equipped with advanced medical devices and refrigerators to transport organs and plasma for urgent transplants. They also have defibrillators, fire extinguishers, and other emergency tools.

The Lamborghini police cars are also a symbol of Italian excellence and innovation, as well as a way to promote road safety and respect for the law. They are often displayed at public events and schools, where they attract the attention and curiosity of the citizens, especially the younger ones.

The Features of the Urus Performante Polizia

The Urus Performante Polizia is the sixth and latest Lamborghini model to enter the police fleet. It was delivered to the Italian State Police in December 2023, and will enter into service in 2024. It is based on the Urus Performante, a more powerful and agile version of the Urus, which set the record for the fastest SUV on the Pikes Peak Hillclimb in 2022.

The Urus Performante Polizia has a V8 biturbo engine that delivers 666 hp and 850 Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 306 km/h. It also has a best-in-class driving dynamics, thanks to its active torque vectoring, rear-wheel steering, adaptive air suspension, and carbon ceramic brakes.

The Urus Performante Polizia was customized by Lamborghini technicians at Sant’Agata Bolognese, following the specifications of the police. The exterior features the classic blue and white livery of the Italian State Police, with tricolor bands on the sills and seat belt. The police logos are applied on the doors in reflective film, and a light bar with 360° blue LED lights is installed on the roof, along with a two-tone electric siren.

The interior has various elements that are essential for the public security service, such as:

  • An armored weapon box
  • A flip-down message display
  • A special compartment in the trunk for stowing service equipment
  • A portable fridge for the transportation of organs, with a display and data logger for monitoring the internal temperature

The Urus Performante Polizia is also equipped with a sophisticated communication system, which includes:

  • A radio device
  • A tablet
  • A video camera
  • A radar
  • A GPS

These devices allow the police officers to communicate with the headquarters, record the activities, detect the speed and license plate of the vehicles, and navigate the routes.
