XEV begins serial manufacturing of its YoYo electric car
The IAA was once the stage for major Italian brands, at whose stands fans and customers flocked to be amazed: Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Alfa Romeo, and Fiat will be absent from the IAA Mobility in 2021. But another Italian holds the position. With the Yoyo, the young company has developed an electric city vehicle that is built in China. A steel frame serves as the basic structure around which the body is then assembled with parts from the 3D printer. With a length of 2.53 meters, the two-seater XEV Yoyo picks up on the original idea of the Smart, and as "half a car," is, therefore, primarily at home in narrow city traffic. The Yoyo, which weighs only 450 kilograms without batteries, is powered by a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum output of 15 kW (20 hp). The continuous output is given as 7.5 kW (10 HP). That should be enough to accelerate the Yoyo up to 75 km / h. Depending on the licensing requirements, it can also be designed as a light vehicle w
