The market's second best-selling electric vehicle in all of Europe

When it comes to electric vehicles, the Fiat 500 Electric is the clear winner in Germany. Although the Fiat brand dropped nearly 30 percent in Italy through the first five months of the year (29.8 percent), the Fiat 500 Electric emerged as the market's second best-selling electric vehicle in all of Europe, including Italy, Germany, and France. And this is the case despite the fact that the market for fully electric vehicles or hybrids is not exactly booming.

Fiat has been a major player in the latter sector for some time now with its 500 and Panda models. Both cars use the same powertrain, which consists of a 12-volt Bsg (Best-driven starter generator) electric unit with 3.6 kW of power connected directly to the crankshaft and tasked with accumulating energy during deceleration and returning it when the accelerator is pressed. The brand's mission has always been to make technology more widely available and accessible, and this mild-hybrid system was designed to reflect that. For the Fiat 500X and the Fiat Tipo, the commitment to innovation has also led to the 1.5 hybrid engine with 130 hp and 48-volt technology, which can make even short trips with only electric power and no emissions.

We still don't know how drivers in their 20s and 30s, who are the target audience, feel about this commitment. This is why Fiat is taking a new approach to communication; the latest example is the Fiat 500 "La Prima by Bocelli," the first city car in the world to feature JBL's "Virtual Venues" technology. This is made possible by the car's 320 W system, which is highly refined in design and performance and is built into the passenger compartment without taking up space from the seats or the trunk.

The top-of-the-line Fiat 500 Electric, a symbol of an Italy that cares about its young people by providing connected, innovative, and, more than ever before, environmentally friendly automobiles, was unveiled in conjunction with Eurovision. Another novel effort was launched with the help of an unexpectedly bold spirit; it's called KIRI, and it's designed to incentivize people to treat the environment with more care.

The program, developed in tandem with the Stellantis e-Mobility Business Unit and the startup KIRI Technologies, incentivizes 500 customers to adopt a more environmentally friendly mode of transportation by providing them with vouchers redeemable for unique goods and services from the program's online marketplace, which features the wares of more than 350 companies in the apparel, accessories, and design industries.

Can people actually adapt to the "nightmare" of pollution? The answer is no, of course not. In fact, Fiat has decided to launch a limited-edition model called the 500X Yachting, which uses the mild-hybrid engine but also enhances the pleasure of open-air and refined style with a livery dedicated to the Yacht Club Capri and luxury boating in honor of the 65th anniversary of the 500 (July 1957–July 2022).
