Volkswagen has given its midsize SUVs, the Atlas and the Atlas Cross Sport, a major refresh for the 2024 model year. A New Turbocharged Engine with More Power and Efficiency

One of the most significant changes for the 2024 Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport is the new 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that replaces the previous 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. The new engine produces 255 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, an increase of 20 horsepower and 37 lb-ft of torque over the previous engine. The new engine also improves fuel economy, with an EPA-estimated 24 mpg city and 31 mpg highway for the front-wheel-drive models, and 23 mpg city and 29 mpg highway for the all-wheel-drive models.

The new engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission that delivers smooth and responsive shifts. The new engine is available on all trim levels of the Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport, except for the SEL Premium R-Line, which comes with a 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 276 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque. The V6 engine is also available as an option on the other trim levels, for an additional $1,400.

The Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport also offer a choice of two drivetrain options: front-wheel drive or 4Motion® all-wheel drive. The 4Motion® system can distribute power between the front and rear axles as needed, depending on the road conditions and driving mode. The Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport also feature a Driving Mode Selection feature that allows the driver to choose from four modes: Eco, Normal, Sport, and Custom. The 4Motion® models also have an additional Off-Road mode and an Off-Road Custom mode that can adjust various settings such as steering, throttle, transmission, and hill descent control.

A Refined Interior with More Comfort and Technology

The 2024 Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport also boast a refreshed interior that offers more comfort and technology for the driver and passengers. The models also offer optional features such as a head-up display, a digital cockpit, a panoramic sunroof, a Fender® premium audio system, a 360-degree camera, park assist, and traffic sign recognition.

The 2024 Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport also feature a revised exterior that gives them more style and character. The exterior features new front and rear bumpers, new headlights and taillights, new grille designs, and new wheel options. The exterior also offers a choice of eight colors, such as Pure White, Platinum Gray Metallic, Aurora Red Chroma Metallic, and Racing Green Metallic.
