The new Toyota RAV4 Black Edition stands out

Toyota is showing off a bunch of upgrades for the new 2023 Toyota RAV4 Black Edition today. These upgrades aim to improve life on board, with new multimedia systems and a new digital driver's instrument display that can be customized. New functions have been added to the Toyota Safety Sense systems, making cars safer.

All the hybrid and plug-in electric models are getting the changes. This makes the world's first and best-selling recreational SUV even more appealing.

A new system for multimedia

Toyota's newest multimedia system is used in the new RAV4, which has a more extensive, 10.5" screen with a high-definition color display.

The standard system has cloud-based navigation that lets you plan a trip with accurate information that is constantly being updated. It also gives you real-time information about traffic and road events and how easy or hard it might be to find a parking spot near your destination.

Customers can use Toyota's latest multimedia and navigation systems without pairing their phones to the car. This is made possible by the four-year "Smart Service" data package that comes with the car.

With the MyT smartphone app, the user experience is smooth, and customers can keep track of information about their cars, such as driving analytics, fuel levels, warnings, and the "find my car" function. You can also save time by using the app to make service and maintenance appointments at Toyota centers, which can be done through the app.

There is smartphone integration with Android Auto, and wireless smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay is built in as a convenience.

With the new onboard voice agent, you can talk to your car in more ways. You can use voice commands to change the temperature, choose multimedia options, make a phone call, or open and close the windows. "Hey Toyota" is made to understand conversational speech, so if you say, "I'm cold," it will respond by closing the windows or turning up the air conditioning.

An additional multimedia system can also be added and has more functions. It adds a built-in navigation system that works even when there is no data connection. It can also read road signs, send local weather alerts, and let the driver know about restricted LEZs (low emission zones).

Services that can be done from a distance

The new Toyota RAV4 Black Edition has more functions that the driver can use from a distance without having to be in or near the car. When you walk away from your car, you often worry about whether you left a window open, the doors unlocked, or the lights on. With remote notifications, you can make sure the car is safe. All new RAV4s come with this feature as a standard.

You can also lock and unlock the doors, which is useful if someone needs to use the car without a key, like dropping off a package or cleaning it. The hazard lights can also flash, which makes it easier to find the car in a large or busy parking lot. These features are now standard on mid-range models, along with the ability to control the climate control from a distance so that the cabin can be warmed up or cooled down before a trip.

New digital combi meter

All new Toyota models have a feature that lets the driver see and understand important vehicle data at a glance. This helps the driver stay focused on driving and the road ahead. In the instrument binnacle of the new RAV4, a new digital combi meter can be set to show different things. There are four styles, three layouts, and personalization options for the 12.3-inch display. This lets the driver choose the most important information, such as a speedometer with numbers or digital dials, an eco-driving meter, or an Adaptive Cruise Control display, among other things.

These layouts come in four styles for a more personalized look and feel Casual, Smart, Sport, and Tough.

The new unit comes standard on all grades except the basic Icon model, which has a 7-inch version of the unit.

Toyota's Safety Sense was made better.

The new Toyota RAV4 Black Edition has improved Toyota Safety Sense features that warn drivers about more common road accident risks and help them avoid them.

The Pre-Collision System (PCS) gets help with intersections, which can help make turns at crossroads safer. It will notice if the car is about to cross the path of oncoming traffic or if pedestrians are crossing the road where the vehicle is moving. It will then warn the driver and, if necessary, start braking control to help avoid a crash.

Emergency Steering Assist is also new. It helps the driver avoid a pedestrian who has stepped into the road while keeping the car under control and in its traffic lane. On the RAV4 Plug-in, the system will also recognize bicycles and parked cars and do something about them. The Toyota RAV4 Black Edition Plug-PCS can also now detect oncoming cars in the same traffic lane as the car. This makes it less likely that the two cars will crash head-on.

New color on the outside

All RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid and Hybrid models are getting a new exterior color called Platinum White Pearl. A two-tone Platinum White Pearl and Midnight Black Metallic paint job will be added for both versions of the Dynamic grade.

The 2023 Toyota RAV4 Black Edition will be made for the first time in the third quarter of this year. @via Panorica.
