The new Toyota GR 86 sports car

At a joint online event organized by Toyota Gazoo Racing and Subaru Corporation, Toyota presented the new, currently not yet orderable and not yet homologated Toyota GR 86 for the first time. Alongside the Toyota GR Supra and the Toyota GR Yaris, it is the third model in the Toyota GR range.

The no longer available Toyota GT86, of which more than 200,000 units have been sold worldwide, will get a successor. Toyota expects the new Toyota GR 86 to be the lightest four-seater coupe in its class. The reason for this is weight savings such as the use of aluminum for the roof and body parts. The torsional stiffness increased by around 40 percent ensures more dynamic handling and steering properties. Aerodynamic elements such as the front air ducts and the side skirts also help the Toyota GR 86 achieve top values in handling and stability.

The dimensions of the new Toyota GR 86, however, remain largely identical to the Toyota GT86. The new Toyota GR 86 will be launched in Europe someday. @toyota.
